| Bio: Cody Michael Becker was the beloved husband of Jordan L. (Mitzel) Becker, whom he married on June 30, 2018. Born at Hanover Hospital, Cody was the cherished son of Jody L. (Hartlaub) Becker of Hanover and Thomas Becker of East Berlin.
A 2004 graduate of Spring Grove Area High School, Cody excelled as a three-sport athlete and served as team captain of the football, wrestling, and baseball teams. His wrestling journey was defined not only by remarkable achievements, including 118 career wins, a .771 winning percentage, four-time district qualification, and recognition as a PIAA state qualifier and Century Club member, but also by the strength of his character. He was known for his humility, dedication, and selflessness, which left a lasting impact on his teammates, coaches, and community.
Cody continued his academic and athletic career at Millersville University, where he became an NCAA Division I East Regional Champion and a two-time national qualifier in 2006 and 2007. He graduated in 2008 and later returned home to mentor young athletes, giving back to the program that had helped shape him. In recognition of his enduring impact, Cody was honored with the Spring Grove Wrestling Alumni of the Year award.
After college, Cody devoted his life to public service with the Northern York County Regional Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Detective Sergeant. Throughout his distinguished career, he received numerous commendations and awards for excellence. On June 8, 2010, he heroically responded to a house fire in North York Borough, climbing to the second story of a burning building to catch children escaping through a window. His actions that day saved a family of four and exemplified his deep commitment to protecting others.
Beyond his professional and athletic accomplishments, Cody was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his wife and children, Canton and Wrynn. He also loved hunting and treasured his time on numerous mountain trips to Potter County, lovingly known as “God’s Country.” |

| Summary: |
Detective Sergeant Cody Becker, Detective Mark Baker, and Detective Isaiah Emenheiser were shot and killed, and another detective from the Northern York County Regional Police Department and a deputy sheriff from the York County Sheriff's Office were wounded while attempting to serve an arrest warrant at the 1800 block of Haar Road in North Codorus Township.
A man was wanted for stalking a female; hiding in the field near her house, wearing camouflage, carrying an AR-15, and using binoculars to watch her in her home. When detectives were unable to serve the warrant at the suspect's home, they went back to the home of the person he was stalking. At 2:08 p.m., detectives approached the house and realized the front door was unlocked. When they entered the home, they were met with gunfire. Detective Sergeant Becker and Detective Emenheiser were ambushed. When Detective Baker and another detective tried to find cover, they were fired upon multiple times.
The shooter then walked out of the house to fire at another detective and a York County Sheriff's Office deputy, striking the detective and the deputy's vehicle. The detective and deputy returned fire, but the suspect continued to advance to the roadway until he was shot and killed.
Detective Sergeant Becker, Detective Baker, and Detective Emenheiser died on scene. Another detective and the deputy were critically wounded.
